Many pet owners don’t like vets or going to them. Honestly, I don’t understand why, so I did a bit of research. The answers are, let’s just say, strange. Some people don’t like veterinarians because they charge too much, they don’t like animals or they aren’t good in their job. All of these isn’t true. The first thing you should know is that veterinarians have a very tough education. They must finish 4-year high school and then 4 years of college, in order to become vets. Then, they must pass state and national exams in order to get their license to practice. Even after, they must go to courses, in order to stay in touch with new developments. It is hard to get into vet school. There are only 28 veterinarian schools in the US.
You think you pay them too much. Actually, they earn much less than human doctors. Depending on the area and field of practice, veterinarians ear from $35.000 to $117.000. Vets in government practice earn $70.000 and those in private practice earn $50.000.
Then comes the questions do vets like animals. The answer is already known. Human physicians must learn the anatomy of male and female and how medications act on them, vets must learn the same for almost every animal. They also must know how that specific species will react to that medication. All vets have a basic knowledge about behaviors, diseases, parasites and care requirements. Now you can truly understand that not a single person who doesn’t like science and animals will go all this ‘’trouble’’ in order to become a veterinarian.
